Tory Burch--40% off Resort Collection

The Tory Burch Resort Collection ("Pre-Spring", if you will) is now 40% off. I admit, I wasn't always a fan of her clothes (yes, I said some of the Populuxe prints reminded me of a "nooner at the Idlewild Motel"), but I do love her Polynesian and Moroccan inspired prints for S/S 09.

In any case, you can grab some S/S looks for less now---any of these clothes will work, and few will be the wiser. Beautiful, exotic, 40% off-- good mix.

"Sanura" silk dress, $327. (WAS $545.)

Bobbi Brown: Free Metallic Eye Shadow, Part Deux

For those of you who didn't take advantage of Bobbi's free metallic eye shadow with $65. purchase promtoion (or for those of you who did) you might want to do so this time. This is a full size Rock Star Metallic eye shadow, with a retail value in the neighborhood of $20. Self Magazine gave Bobbi's metallic shadows the top prize in 2008.

On a personal note, I use her metallic shadow all the time. It's perfect---not garish or glittery, it just adds a nice sheen to your lid. It's especially nice when you want to "wake up" your eyes. The shades are exquisite.

For your free Rock Star Metallic Eye Shadow with $65. purchase, use code SPARKLE2 at checkout. This offer valid until February 28. Shop online at

One Week Only! $5. off Land's End totes

No interior designer, architect, landscape designer, graphic designer (or prep, for that matter) could do without their canvas tote bag. Versatile, classic design, a real workhorse, and you can do it up right with a monogram and your choice of colors. Last you for years and years. And the price, under $50., can't be beat.

LL Bean Boat and Tote is the "established" choice---it's as much a staple as your grandmother's pearls and your mother's madras. (And your father's sapphire and tonic...)

But Land's End offers an update on the original, with a number of great color choices and cool monograms. Many prefer Land's End to LL Bean because the Land's End totes seem to be sturdier and have more pockets. Oh, and this week only, you can save $5. on Land's End totes. Might be worth a try...

Beautyhabit Exclusive Code through February 18th

A toutie exclusive: With your $50. Beautyhabit purchase, receive a coupon for $15. off your next purchase. Use code toutie. This offer is valid from February 11th-18th.

Yesterday I ordered my favorite Calypso fragrance--Chevrefeuille. (I am in a mood for spring. Just can't be bothered with winter scents after January. I am so over it. No more spice or heavy vanillas or ambers. Done. Just so done.) A honeysuckle scent always lifts the spirits.

With my $15. coupon I might just go for the Ineke After My Own Heart ($88.) Lilacs are on my list.

The UPS man just delivered my perfume! I love Friday the 13th!

25% off Jo Malone

Blame it on my love for Yasmin Le Bon and Jemima Khan. My girl crush on two of London's most lovely had me devouring every issue of Tatler in the late 90's. I read all about privilege and pampering among the Sloanes---which included exclusive scents from Jo Malone London. The It Brits swooned over her Nutmeg and Ginger bath oil and Lime Basil and Mandarin cologne. Anyone who was anyone was popping into Jo's shop for a complete "fragrance wardrobe", all wrapped up in chic cream boxes and tied with an elegant black bow.

I had to have.

I called the shop and ordered the now famous Lime Basil and Mandarin cologne, and the Nutmeg and Ginger bath oil. I cop to the indulgence, but never regretted it. (Well, I regretted it a little when Neiman began carrying the line a year later.) These scents were unlike anything I had ever experienced; there was a freshness to them, like someone was sitting in the back of a shop with a mortar and pestle, grinding up blooms from Italian villas. I was in love.

I immediately ordered more Jo Malone--154, a woody number named after the address of Jo's original store. And followed up with Honeysuckle and Jasmine, which will always bring back memories of a perfect summer. Jo Malone was joy in a bottle.

I wish you joy, and bring you good news of Jo Malone's Friends and Family event, with savings of 25%, February 10th and 11th only.

Goodbye, It Bag. Hello, Hit Shoe

This article in today's International Herald Tribune by Suzy Menkes (that Suzy), had me laughing out loud. I'm not sure if it was meant to, but it was amusing nonetheless.

Apparently, shoes, not bags, are center stage for spring. Smaller, more sensible bags are now "polite partners" to apparel---a shift from the outsized bags with outsized egos (and price tags to match) that have ruled the runways for the past several years. So, why the change?

It's the economy, stupid. Oh, and the earth. She has a fever, you know:

"The concept of sustainability, a conscience about a wasteful society and the pertinent problem of finding the money for new purchases all contribute to a mind-set where the "It" bag seems frivolous..."

Right, so spend that money on a "Hit Shoe." It's a green choice. This kind of green: $$$$.

I mean, what's frivolous about thousand dollar plus shoes? You can wear these YSL numbers everywhere:

It's like an iron maiden for you foot. No doubt the zippers on these shoes have been replaced with padlocks.

"My shoes are killing me!" And you paid dearly for the privilege.

So much more sensible than an It Bag.

So thankful fashion has our best interests in mind.
